For our new leg, we were going to Australia! The plane ride was separated into two flights. One was fourteen hours to Hong Kong, then nine hours to Sydney. Our flight left at 2:00 Am, but our dad wanted to be home earlier then that so he dropped us off at 8:00pm at the Logan airport. The airport went relatively smoothly, and we got to our gate pretty quickly. It was abandoned, which made sense because the plane wasn’t boarding for about five hours. At the gate, Mum napped while Xander and I charged and downloaded on our iPads. I surprisingly wasn’t tired, just a bit hungry.
We boarded the plane pretty easily, and then we got settled in our seats. I got to sit on aisle, which is my favorite because you can go to the bathroom easily. I unpacked my carry-on, which had all my necessities in it. I unpacked my iPad, headphones, snacks, gum, one stuffed animal and my Hufflepuff slippers, so my feet were cozy. My carry on still had some stuff in it though, like a change of clothes and a sweatshirt, so we put it in the overhead bin.. I started to watch my Netflix downloads. I watched The Office, Parks and Rec and some other random episodes of random tv shows, until I got tired and napped after about four hours, and then I woke up. The plane ride was already half way through, and it was surprisingly fast. I then discovered that *yay* they had movies for free on the plane. I watched Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, my favorite new movie. Then I watched oceans eight, and the flight was over.
The layover in Hong Kong was uneventful, but they did have Mc Donald’s and they had a very cool contraption moving the food. It was two story, and the workers made the food on the top, so they had a contraption bringing food down to the place where you ordered.
Three hours later, and we were on another plane to Australia. I got tired very fast, but I was determined to watch all the movies on in flight entertainment ended up watching some of the lion king, and some of Jurassic world. Also, Hong Kong had my favorite show, so I downloaded some of that and watched that on the plane. The food on the plane wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t terrible, but the bathroom had moisturizer! felt super nauseous on the flight, and didn’t feel better until the next day. I was surprisingly was not jet lagged.
It felt short, but twenty four hours is still a lot of traveling for me! I was so hungry when we landed because I didn’t eat on the plane, because I felt a bit nauseous. At least we got to Australia safely!
